Theresa C. Gaynord: Proud Fascist

On June 10th, 2025, author Theresa C. Gaynord made a questionable post on BlueSky (isn’t that just how all of these start?). Known to follow anyone prolifically in the hopes of creating a web of influence that her Amazon-sold books don’t seem to be providing on their own, Gaynord might have just started trying a different tack to get attention: outrage. Ever since certain conservative white women have found a market for their own victimization online, collecting in some cases thousands of dollars after being fired or “canceled” for using ethnic slurs, it’s started to look like a feasible way to make money or sell books for desperate MAGA grifters.

Gaynord, a 60-something self-proclaimed expert in the occult, writes what she claims are horror/crime novels with spiritual elements. Her first, The Adversary, pits a child psychic with an NYPD detective as they seek to solve some mystery regarding the deaths of Roman Catholic Priests—heavily hinted to be the work of the actual devil. Hilariously, the prequel which came next has a vibe of “The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny,” as Gaynord describes her book on Amazon with every single paranormal thing you might possibly guess could be involved: “[…] vampires, angels, demons, werewolves, witches, aliens, healers, shapeshifters, The Devil and Jesus Christ in the ultimate battle for control of The Universe.”

Damn. High stakes, I guess.

Neither of these books have written reviews on Amazon, the first with just one five star and the second with two. On GoodReads, the vibe is similar with Theresa herself being the only review (and naturally five stars) of both her first and second novels. Her novel Alice does have another rating on it and a review but it seems to have come from a woman named Tracey who claims to be her publisher. Well, I’m sorry Tracey, but were you thinking about marketing these? Theresa might need some help in that regard…

Now that we know who Theresa C. Gaynord is (what would be called “a failed writer” in the 80s and 90s), we can talk about her shooting herself in the foot on social media. In a poorly-timed and and poorly thought-out post on BlueSky, Gaynord claimed unprompted, “I support Trump using whatever means possible to bring back law and order into our streets against criminals who are burning our American flag and destroying property. Deport and arrest. Bring in the National Guard, bring in the Marines, do whatever it takes to get these people under control.” In light of the recent events in Los Angeles, these are some bold and very unpopular sentiments that one would think wouldn’t do well for Gaynord’s career as a writer. For her part, she doesn’t seem to care. Maybe she’s banking on the grifter payout, but in most cases, those banking on hate end up broke. In her follow-up skeets, she insists that she doesn’t need anyone to buy her books and that she’s “good.”

Still, Gaynord wasn’t done. “Rioting in a country you broke into... waving the flag of the one you escaped... while burning the flag of the one you're begging to stay in. Make it make sense,” she says, completely ignoring that one of the attractive reasons to move to the United States is within her very statement—the ability to openly express any kind of sentiment you want toward a governing body and remain unpunished for doing so. Gaynord is painfully unaware that the very rights she enjoys every single day and takes for granted are those that these immigrants are exercising and fighting to protect for her. Upon being called out for her usage of the words “these people,” Gaynord openly claims, “There are classes of people,” suggesting that she considers herself in the “above” class…newsflash, Theresa, you’re not a good person. We can confidently say that since Gaynord seems to agree with us on this, as another user commented, “Nazi scum…Nazi scum…you are Nazi fascist scum,” to which our intrepid idiot replied, “And proud of it.”

Yikes.

Definitely not a horse I’d hook my cart up to, but you do you, Theresa. Good luck with those book sales. I hope everything you voted for personally happens directly to you.
